Welcome 2013

So here we are, another year come and gone.

I didn't really make an resolutions this year. I don't really have a plan for what I want to accomplish this year. Except maybe have a baby/get pregnant.

I'm still at my job which sometimes I think is kind of a miracle. I had a meeting with HR a couple months ago which, is not good. I keep being told they are seeing me make an effort but I need to get better. I've given up trying to figure out what they want from me at this point and I am just trying not to make mistakes.  I'm starting to wonder how many people and who is really complaining about me. I hear from some people that I am much more pleasant to work with than my co-worker but I suppose if I am not doing my job properly, that really doesn't matter, does it?

I turned 30 last month. It feels really weird to say that outloud sometimes. I don't feel 30 but I also don't know how 30 should really feel ya know? I don't feel like I have accomplished much but at the same time, I am married, working full time and I own a home so there's that. Our refinance went through in December so we'll be saving a bunch more every month and by a bunch more I mean something. I'm trying to rein in my husband a little. He seems to think that just because we'll have more money we should be able to spend some of it. He thinks our TV is too small and we need one in our bedroom. We rarely watch TV up there so I don't see the point.

I'm still also singing in my church choir although I do wish there was more of an age mix. There are some days at rehearsal when it feels weird to be the youngest person there. But I love singing so I keep going back. And I love the traditional Christmas songs.

Speaking of the holidays, we had a good Christmas. I got quite a bit in Amazon money so yea books!

I'm loving my Kindle by the way. I have found that I am able to get books pretty easy on the Kindle as long as I don't want to read something super new. I finally read Harry Potter although I am sad to say I only got through half of book 5 before giving up. I just couldn't get into it. I know Harry was suppose to be  a teenager but he also acted just like a teenager and I wanted to scream at him and tell him to stop complaining.

I finished another 100 books this year which means in the last 3 years I have read almost 500 books which is kind of astonishing. I also read my first Stephen King this year. And it was a fantastic book-even at over 800 pages. I ended up buying it on my Kindle when it went on sale.  This past weekend I got together with some of my online book ladies. It ended up being 7 of us who all met up in CT. CT seemed to be the central location for everyone. It only took me an hour from my house. Sometimes I forget how close CT actually is. It seems so much further away for some reason.

Also, super excited Bunheads is back. I love Amy-Sherman shows. It reminds me of my favorite show, Gilmore Girls but it's also different and it's own show at the same time.

And in case anyone's curious, this is what I read in 2012. The ones in bold are my favorites

  1. Wow, 500?! That is crazy impressive! I don't keep nearly well enough track of what I read, but I'm sure it pales in comparison!
